Hudson was our only soccer player this spring. He played for a neighbourhood U8 team called the Bombers. He had a bunch of friends from school on his team and a lot of the time, the kids were so distracted by playing with each other that they didn't really pay enough attention to the game. So their scoring opportunities were pretty scarce. But they got lots of exercise and had tons of fun so it's all good.

Outdoor Soccer Season
This year, Connor, Maira AND Hudson wanted to play outdoor soccer. So we had a very busy schedule in May and June getting them all to their various practices and games. It did help that Maira and Hudson were on the same team although I was disappointed for Maira that she didn't get to have the experience of playing on an all-girls team like a lot of girls her age.

Connor - Indoor Soccer
Connor`s on a community league indoor soccer team this year, the Callingwood Snipers. He has a game every Saturday plus a mid-week practice which keeps us busy but he enjoys his games so it's all good. He's Number 7 in the yellow jersey.

Soccer
And, I know I've already posted about soccer before but here are some more cute pictures Jess took during Maira and Hudson's last week of soccer.
Sometimes Hudson found the goalie position boring so he liked to liven it up.
On their last day of soccer, they got popsicles and they each got a turn playing on the Adventure Bus.

Connor's 6th Birthday and other June happenings
On June 17th, my sweet little Connor turned 6. Here are some pictures from the big day.

As you can see, he really likes soccer. He's on a community U6 team this spring called the Blue Lightning and he absolutely loves to play. He's definitely a competitive kid and you can see it when he gives it everything he's got in every game, running hard and fast the whole game to try and score as many goals as he can (we're working on passing...). He's also a very fierce goalie when it's his turn to be in net, he's not one of those kids who gets bored or distracted in net, he's always got his eye on the ball.

Right after Connor's birthday, we celebrated Father's Day. Here's Jess after we brought him lunch in bed (none of us, including him, are interested in waking up early enough to do a fancy breakfast in bed on a morning with 9:00 church!)

The kids worked hard on some artwork for Jess which I printed out onto an iron-on fabric transfer and then ironed onto a black t-shirt for him.

And these are some shots from a Sunday afternoon walk to our favourite neighbourhood green spot, Muskrat Pond.
