This past weekend, we managed to catch an hour of one of the last nice days of the warm fall we've been having. We convinced Spencer to come with us after supper out to the sledding hill near our house for a session of family photos. The hill was covered in long grass and thistles gone to seed. Not the fall foliage I had envisioned at first but I'm happy with it now that I look at the pictures.
My boys weren't being super co-operative (for some reason, family pictures aren't their favourite thing to do). So, Spencer took a bunch of shots (and was very patient - thank you!!) and this one turned out the best:
Then we did individual shots:
And, of course, there were some silly shots too:
Shae took this one of us on the hill after the session:
And finally, here are some outtakes:
The low, warm sun made everything, even a patch of thistles, look beautiful.

Love these! Spencer got waaay better smiles from Jess than usung the timer! and my very favorite has to be the one where Shae is cracking up! Makes me wonder what the photographer said!
Yes, I agree. Jess was actually the photographer for the individual shots but it was Spencer that was making Shae laugh. Shae was trying to make funny faces for Jess and Spencer told her to stop making normal faces and make a funny face.
