Family Photo Shoot

We had decided to splurge and hire a professional photographer this year and had our photo shoot lined up for yesterday but then our photographer was sick and we decided that the chances of rescheduling on a day with good weather while there were still leaves on the trees and when Jess was in town were slim to none so Jess grabbed his tripod and we headed out to a wooded area on the way to Spruce Grove and did our own photo shoot. The pictures of the kids turned out especially well. However, by the time we settled on a nice spot for our family shot, the sun was low and behind clouds so the lighting wasn't nearly as nice. With some flashes and some photo processing, it turned out quite well considering the circumstances.

Heather also had an essential role as a photo assistant aiming the fill flash! (we needed to use the flash for all the kid pics too, so their faces weren't too dark with the backlit backgrounds). Heather aimed the flash from the side to get more naturally-lit pics instead of just the flash on the camera.
